Guess what? We have an album coming out! Sort of. Who'd have thunk it? It's more of a compilation album of Chaos UK rarities and (mostly) unreleased studio material really. And some more recent live tracks, as well as some other bits & pieces from the bands that evolved over the years from the original 1978 Chaos UK lineup - some of those songs remain in the current band's live set. Oh, and both sides of our rare (and only) single 'Summer Of Hate' C/W 'I Wanna Be Left Alone' - 'cos only 500 copies were ever pressed and you need that too - right? Here's the official Press Release type thing:
CHAOS UK (LONDON)
“A CHAOTIC FAMILY ALBUM”
January 1978. A punk rock band called Chaos UK was formed in the Islington area of London. After releasing a limited-edition single they
quickly disappeared.
Except…..they didn’t.
Changing their name and evolving into several other bands, their influence continued over many years until the original name (and the
original songs) were revived in 2014.
Music producer John Lucifer has known original guitarist Dave “Snotty” Veal for almost 25 years, and has worked with him on several
recordings – including with the reformed Chaos UK. John has compiled this album from his own stash of material plus several early tracks
from Dave’s personal archive. Sleeve notes by Dave tell the story of each track.
The album contains 21 tracks of which 13 are previously unreleased, with several others only previously available in very limited editions
and long since out-of-print.
“A Chaotic Family Album” represents the definitive story of a band from north London who came.…who saw….and who are still conquering like
it’s 1978!
