Wow...zer.... This is a brand new series that Detour Records is bringing you in with conjunction with The Glory Boy Mod Radio show. We plan to release these compilations every few months to keep you up with all the latest bands that are on the Mod scene… The Mod scene has never been healthier and the abundant of bands that are around and are still being denied by the main stream press and radio stations. Airplay is near enough non existence apart from the dedicated small radio stations / pod casts from around the world… One of the leading stations to do this is 6TR that presents a weekly slot that Alan May runs which gives all these bands exposure.
Alan May has compiled twenty three bands forward to feature on this first volume of many we hope… All bands / labels have donated their tracks free of charge and a proportion of the profits will be split between two charities that Detour and Alan May have proposed…. Future volumes may have other charities nominated by listeners of the Glory Boy Radio Show…
So here goes, as Alan says Shake it easy….

Customer ratings for V/A - The Glory Boy Mod Radio Showcase Vol. 1 CD (NEW)
A great mix of mainly new (to me) tunes with a range of 60s and revival influences. A few tracks don't really do it for me but the majority hit the spot. Special mention to Yellowstone, Fleet Street (v big Jam influences!), The RAF, The Theme, Dying Breed (v 79 to my old ears), King Mojo (Prisoners anyone) and The Face. Being over 50 I can't help but reflect on influences I've heard over the years and that's no way meant as a criticism. We all take what we most like from the past and make it current. This CD mostly does that for me. from Anonymous on 13/04/2018
