Singer/Songwriter; Ian Lucas, is known best for being the lead singer and songwriter of Station 360, who were a Mod band born out of New Wave / Power Pop explosion of 1979.
Station 360 extensively toured London and South East England, in the early 80s and were followed by their ardent fanbase, which included the Scooter Club ‘Midhurst Detours headed up by Dizzy Holmes.
In 1984, at the height of their success in the Mod scene, Station 360 released a single titled 'The Optimist', which was penned by Ian as. The band sold over a thousand copies at their gigs, and 40 years later it is listed for £30 in the Rare Records Collectors Guide book (you can find the listing just above Status Quo). After decades of playing in various band formats and styles and nearly 50 years after writing his first song, Ian decided in early January 2023 to write and record his debut album, which is titled ‘Ian Lucas and The Blacksmiths’.
The album was recorded at The Old Blacksmiths Studios in Portsmouth. It’s an eclectic mix of Ian's song writing styles from; New Wave, Punk, Power Pop, Country and there are still echoes of his writing style from the Station 360 days.
