“Yesterdays – The Remastered Anthology”

The Five Faces are one of the very first Italian 80s Mod bands, formed by a bunch of teenagers in 1980 and split in 1984 after self releasing a couple of cassettes containing original studio and live material.

The band reformed in 2014 including three original members from the various line ups in the 80s and released two cd albums with Detour Records' associated Paisley Archive and one live dvd with Detour Records, plus a number of Italian language releases both with their own label, Modern Beat Records, and the historic Italian rock label Toast Records, with the notable highlight of 2018 “Mare (Sotto Questo Sole)”, mixed in Coventry by Roger Lomas (who produced masteworks by The Selecter, Bad Manners, The Specials and more) and mastered in Abbey Road Studios by Andy Wharton (who worked with Paul Mc Cartney, Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Pixies and more)

Two mini tours in UK took place in 2016/2017, further the obvious continuous live activity on the Italian territory. A new album of Italian material, “Eccesso di Zen” is expected to be released within the first half of 2026 with Toast Records.

“Yesterdays – The Remastered Anthology” includes the digitally remastered versions of all the tracks from the two albums with Paisley Archive plus some audio tracks from the “Live in London” dvd and a selection of other material extracted from compilations, the band's private archives, the brilliant cd single sung by top Mod radio DJ Alan May, and even a bootleg the band discovered had been recorded during their last live stint in UK (instead of proceeding lawfully against the bootlegger, they just asked him to send them four copies of it!) The final result of the anthology is regarded as very satisfactory from the band members, as it represents a significant improvement on the sound quality of all the tracks included, making it a fresh and intriguing listen also for the fans who had already purchased the original cds years ago.
