WAY BACK IN 1979 WHEN PUNK ROCK WAS IN A TURMOIL, THE SEX PISTOLS HAD SPLIT AND MALCOLM MCLAREN HAD A BRAINWAVE OF REPLACING JOHNNY ROTTEN WITH ANOTHER OUTSPOKEN AND CONTROVERSIAL FIGURE. JIMMY PURSEY WAS PERSUADED TO LEAVE SHAM 69 TO FRONT THE NEW SUPER-GROUP THAT WAS BRIEFLY KNOWN AS THE SHAM-PISTOLS. NOW THAT JIMMY WAS GONE, SHAM 69 NEEDED A NEW FRONT MAN. THEY DIDN’T HAVE TO LOOK FOR LONG AS LONG TIME FRIEND OF THE BAND JIMMY EDWARDS WAS DRAFTED IN. PARSONS & EDWARDS PUT THEIR HEADS TOGETHER AND CAME UP WITH TWO NEW SONGS. DARE TO WIN / JUST ORDINARY. SADLY THIS SINGLE NEVER CAME OUT AS PURSEY CAME BACK INTO THE FOLD AS THE SHAM-PISTOLS NEVER REALLY WORKED OUT! DARE TO WIN WAS SHELVED BUT DID APPEAR WITH PURSEY BACK ON VOCAL DUTIES AS UNITE AND WIN. HERE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, YOU CAN HEAR WHAT IT SHOULD OF SOUNDED LIKE….. A LOST PUNK ROCK CLASSIC?
